 BEFORE...
Born in California in 1957.
First appeared on the screen opposite Tom Conti in the 1983 film "Reuben, Reuben".
Played an Amish widow alongside Harrison Ford in the 1985 film "Witness", for which she was nominated for a BAFTA.
Starred alongside Tom Cruise, playing Dr. Charlotte Blackwood, or "Charlie" in the 1986 blockbuster "Top Gun".
Played the prosecutor of Jodie Foster's rapists in the 1988 film "The Accused".

 AFTER...
Owns the restaurant Kelly's in Key West in Florida.
Co-produced and starred in the made-for-TV film "Grand Isle".
In 1993, four days after she gave birth to her second daughter, her husband was arrested for offering a female police officer 20 dollars to perform a sexual act. They are now divorced.
Kelly still acts and regularly appears in films and in plays.
In May 2004 she starred as Mrs. Robinson in the US touring production of The Graduate.
A special edition DVD of "Top Gun" is due for release in late 2004 featuring documentaries about the making of the film.

She was once assaulted by two individuals who broke into her appartment. Because of this she wanted to play the role of the prosecutor in "The Accused".
